Welcome home Wes....and our 2 month old!!
Yesterday we got the awesome opportunity to welcome home our friend Wes, who just finished a tour in Iraq. We were SO GLAD to see him home! I have never been a part of a welcome home ceremony, so it was very emotional to be there as all these dads, husbands, wives, brothers, sons, etc, got off the buses to their families. Makes you even more thankful for their sacrifice. All these little kids had shirts on that said "welcome home daddy"....you saw babies who had never met their dads....wives pregnant whose husbands will now be home for the delivery. Of course, I cried, it was very sweet. Our friend got married right before he deployed, so we were so happy to see them reunited yesterday. Our kids love him, so they were happy to squeeze him too!
And sweet baby Ruth, she's 2 months old today. Wow! She is a great great baby...easy going, hardly ever cries, a great sleeper. She's been a wonderful addition to our family. She is very smiley now, so we love that! Here's a couple pics of her...
Reagan just went to her first sleepover today/tonight with a friend from church. She was SO excited. Can she really be that old already??? Hopefully we will avoid any late night calls and she will have a blast! She had her 2 teeth pulled on Monday and after 4 of us held her down to get the gas in her (while momma sang every song from Mary Poppins I could think of!), she did awesome! She's had a great recovery, hardly any pain, and is off and running again.
Bryce is just a boy...what can I say? He is singing his ABC's, which go like this....
"ABCDEFGHIJKLMNO POOP" ...at least it starts with P, right? Or it goes like this...Momma says "what's my name" Bryce responds "momma". Momma says "What does daddy call me?". Bryce says "poop!".

I really have been forewarned that boys like to talk about bodily functions, but I was hoping for a reprieve for a couple more years, but it's not to be. He thinks he's the funniest guy around, and he is!!
I'm off to enjoy the rest of my Sunday...
