Merry Christmas from the Halls
Merry Christmas from the Hall Family!
This is year 2 of no Christmas Cards for me...I didn't have a good pic last year and just needed to let something go, and it was honestly so freeing. I sent over 150 cards in previous years, and for most of them, wrote personal messages to people. I loved it, because I love the written word, but it was exhausting. A ball had to drop, and that was the one that needed to go. It was easier this year to say no again because it was already the new "tradition". I do love sharing out lives and seeing other people's families, so that part is hard, but I'll just have to be more intentional to connect with our friends and family.
Christmas was pretty quiet around here; we went to church on Christmas Eve and had a charcuterie board that evening. We had Christmas morning with our presents and homemade cinnamon rolls. I made Butter Chicken for lunch, which is so funny to have an international dish as our meal, but it's one of our families' favorites, so I made it happen!! We spent the afternoon/evening with Jason's parents and sister which was great! I just love buying presents for other people and seeing the enjoyment of my kids especially open things they wanted. It was a wonderful Christmas, and I'm loving the break from school and routine. We are sleeping in and resting lots and having no schedule, which has been perfect!
I'm so thankful for our family and in this season especially, Jesus!
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
