Our "Bird Girl"

Ruthie had wanted to be in the musical last year, and looking at our soccer schedules, I just didn't see how that was going to be possible.  The night before musical tryouts this year, I asked her if she wanted to try out, and she said "yes", so we scrambled and prepared something for the audition.  The audition did not go as well as she would have liked, but good enough to earn her a secondary character role as a Bird Girl in her school's production of "Seussical, Jr".  I just smiled ear to ear watching her on stage, just come into her element, with the perfect mix of sass and smiles.  She just lit up the stage and loved the opportunity to participate.  She did a wonderful job and had many fans come to see her over the 2 nights of the production.  With our crazy schedules, I was able to see the show Friday night with 2 of the kids, and Jason took different kids the second night along with some grandparents and friends from church.  Really impressed with the quality of the show for a middle school production, and Ruthie had an absolute BLAST!  It was nuts with her soccer schedule, but we made it work, and since I controlled the schedule for soccer, I was able to schedule games around her performances which worked out amazing!!
