My poor little Brycers.....

Well, what's a Sunday night with a little excitement, I suppose? We were at our friends' home playing Texas Hold 'Em, and Bryce stood up on a chair, which tumbled over and he hit his precious forehead on another barstool. I thought he was fine, until I saw the blood on the floor and our friend Wendy gasped at the hole in his forehead. So, we quickly packed up and made yet another trip to the ER with one of our children for stitches. 4 stitches and a popsicle later, Bryce was ready for discharge. These events are obviously traumatic for the child, painful, etc, but as a parent, your desire to protect your child is so bruised when this happens. Having to watch him in pain and hold him down for the stitches is just plain terrible. He did SO well and is doing fine today. I'm hoping he can slow down for a few days to let it heal.....HA! He even smiled and said cheese for this picture this morning.

As a child, I NEVER had stitches and neither did my sister as far as I can recall. When I asked Jason, he remarked the MANY times he has had stitches....oh BOYS! I guess this is probably not the end of stitches for my children, but I could use a little respite until the next time!
On a much lighter and yummier note, this is my last hurrah to summer fruit pizza I made for Jason's potluck at work. He works at a company that starts with H, so I thought I was quite clever. It was tasty to boot!

The much more fun news of the weekend is I got to experience my first Big 10 Football game this weekend at the Big House. Jason has season tickets this year. It was a fun atmosphere and I had a great time! They even won!! Of course I got misted on 1/2 of the game and I think I even embarrassed Jason a little teeny bit by pulling out my poncho when the rain got a little harder. Let's just say I was not the only one there with it on. Many thanks to my sisters-in-law for keeping our kids while I got a day out!!

Since Bryce is taking a much needed nap, I gotta run and be productive!
