Our trip to Sunny, WARM 'Zona!

We just returned (at 4 a.m this morning) from our annual trip to Arizona! What beautiful weather we enjoyed! It was in the upper 80's most of our trip, not a spot of rain. I absolutely LOVE the Arizona climate, especially compared to the pokey spring we are having here in the Midwest!
Every trip needs its adventure, and we visited the ER the FIRST day we were there. Reagan split her head open above her eye. Not quite sure what happened, because she was supposed to be "resting" before we headed down to the pool, but she greeted us with a face full of blood. 4 stitches later and she was fine. Truly, I was more traumatized through the whole thing than she was. The hospital gave her this cute little bear and Reagan got to treat the bear first before they stitched her up. She actually did very well and recovered fast. Their initial comment to us was "no swimming".....which I could hardly stomach. This child has not talked about anything BUT swimming in 'zona for days, let alone that morning she asked every 5 minutes if it was time to swim. (We stay in a retirement community where there are scheduled child swimming hours). After some coercing from Jason and I, they relented and said to just try not to have her submerged. No swimming was just not an option in our book!
Like I said, Reagan had quick recovery and we had a great, great visit. It was nice having my sister there, since she is a PA, she could keep her eye on the wound and even take the stitches out for us.

Our excursion this year was to Lake Havasu City and the London Bridge. In the 60's they actually brought over the London Bridge piece by piece and reconstructed it here over the Colorado River (Lake Havasu). We took a 2 1/2 hour boat tour up the Colorado and it was beautiful.
On the way back, we took a detour up through Kingman, Arizona and stopped at an old fashioned diner for lunch. Here's Reagan by the jukebox. We were on the old Route 66, so that was really fun.
I ordered a chili dog for lunch, thinking it would be a modest lunch, and much to my surprise, this plate full of food emerged! Between the car sickness and that lunch, my stomach was quite irritated for the trip home.

We are now home, readjusting back to a 3 hour time change. We will take it easy the next few days, getting settled back home. Jason is already back to work, and I need to make a grocery list so we can eat today. We are thankful for the opportunity to travel and 2 fantastic kids that made the trip a blast!
