Family Vacay

I was so thankful we blocked off a week for family vacation this summer.  I love the chance to all be together…I really could care less where we end up, together is just my favorite!  This year took us to St. Louis and Branson, Missouri.  My mentors from College live near St. Louis and embarrassingly enough, I haven’t seen them in 20 years and they’ve only met Reagan as a baby.  It blessed me so much to be able to squeeze them again and introduce my family to them.  Just such a gift to my heart to be able to hug them and see them and share a few days together.

First day…St. Louis Zoo, obligatory carousel picture

Near the Arch is the courthouse where the Dred Scott decision was handed down, so we did a short visit there after (recovering) from the arch.

I thought I would be fine up in the arch, I’m typically not afraid of heights, but this really caught me off guard.  From the little egg shelled cars your rode to the top in, where I felt like I had to be brave for Bennett because he was nervous, to feeling completely unnerved once I got to the top.  I really couldn’t look out of the windows, I had to stand in the middle and look back towards the tram down.  I couldn’t wait for the 10 minutes to be over so we could go back down…that’s definitely a one and done activity for me.  The rest of the fam thought it was way cool and loved it…

And a day at Six Flags…we had beautiful weather and the kids had a blast riding all the coasters.
