Back to school

 Bennett was very excited to head back to school here in January.  With the arrival of the v* available for younger students, our county allowed the mask mandate to expire and he was able to head back maskless! He is having a GREAT adjustment back to school and I'm so proud of him.  Through the 20 months at home, we reevaluated the school he was attending and make a switch to a smaller elementary school (still within district) that allowed him to stay in the same building K-5 (he would have had one semester in his current building and would have moved to a 3-5 building next year).  The transition has gone wonderfully and Bennett is already making friends.

Yesterday in the car, we were talking about school and if he was happy to be back.  He said he was happy to be back but that he did miss being home.   I asked what he missed most about being homeschooled and he said "you".  Umm...cue the tears...he is a sweetheart and I'm so thankful for all those months at home with him.

Here is Bennett from his first day back at school since March 2019!  The smile says it all!!
