Grandma and grandpa come to visit
We love it when grandma and grandpa come to visit....they got a chance to see both Ruthie and Bryce play soccer over the weekend. (Although I'm sure in the cold, they both we were wishing for Arizona!!)
The kids had a half day Friday so we ventured off to the zoo. We have a membership at the public museum and they offer reciprocal entry into certain area attractions for free for specific months. While October would not be my first choice for the zoo, and it was a tad chilly, the animals did NOT disappoint! While many of the birds, lemurs and smaller animals were not out...wow! The snow leopard, the mountain lion, the bears were RIGHT by the window, the tiger walked right by us at the glass probably 6-7 times. The tiger was responding and roaring back as the kids roared to him. The lion was right up by the window, bellowing over and over again. I've never seen the animals like this...they are typically asleep, hiding, backs to you, never so engaging, it was such a treat! And with little to no people there you could just stand and stay at an exhibit and watch.
Benny was so funny...we watched the red panda for quite a while, what an amazing animal. As we walked away, he said "mom, I want one of 'dose. Can I have one for my birthday, a baby one?"
This went on and on! After we saw the lion bellowing and bellowing, he walked away saying "mama, I don't want one of 'dose."
