Well, our camping trip to Wisconsin never disappoints! It was cold this year, but that didn't stop us from having a fantastic weekend with our family and friends! Every year people chuckle when I say I have a hotel for the overnights, and I never feel bad about it, ESPECIALLY not this year, when the evenings lows were 27 degrees! Originally my dad and Jason (and possibly Bryce) were going to tent it, but when my dad called and said how cold it was going to be, we added another hotel room so we could all get a good night's sleep!
The kids were great hikers, and we had so much fun exploring a park we've explored a bunch of times!!
The highlight of the trip is the kids climbing the rocks from the lower trail up to the higher one. They did it 3 times this year. I'm hoping maybe next year Ruth is able to hike the rocks so I can go too! It seems I am always left behind with the baby!!
This picture was probably right before Bryce fell in one of the streams (Jason claims I pushed him in!), and got his pant leg and shoes/socks completely soaked. Did I mention it was cold, and that I only brought one pair of shoes per person?? Bryce was a trooper, and I would expect nothing less from him!!
The colors were just beautiful. This is a pic of our campsite!! This year one of our friends rented a pavilion for all day Saturday which was just terrific! It was down by the lake, and had a wood burning stove inside, so we were able to let the kids run around and play and be warm! I got to visit with my cousins and friends more and even get some euchre in as well! I could have done without the mice appearances at a lull in the afternoon when most of the people had gone off hiking, but when everyone showed back up, they ran for cover (thank goodness!). Have I said on here how I hate mice?? Anyways....
This place is just chock full of memories for our family and I love that I get to take my own family here now and experience it as well!!
